Class 2: Year 4 Red Ridge

Year 4 had an amazing day yesterday at Red Ridge!
The first activity was artificial caving which was a lot of fun! After getting their helmets, the children went into the ‘cave’ that has different obstacles to climb over/under/around and tunnels to crawl through. They did the route twice with the lights on and the 3rd time completed the route in total darkness!
Next was archery where the children learned the correct way to hold the bow and shoot the arrow. After lots of practice , they then had a competition with Team Arrows against Team Bows where Team Bows won by just 10 points!
After a quick lunch break, the children got ready to go to the lake. They got their helmets and buoyancy aids and walked up to the lake. First they went in the big green canoes to get used to paddling. Next they went in pairs in double canoes which is where they realised how windy it was! After some canoeing it was then time for stand up paddle boarding. Despite the wind they had so much fun with quite a few managing to stand up!
As always the children’s behaviour was exemplary and a credit to Ysgol Meifod. Despite the rain we had such a brilliant time!
Thank you Year 4 for a day full of fun and adventure!
